In order to help each other Be a disciple, we must first seek to be equipped for a life of following Jesus.
“To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-13
Our Equipping Classes are offered during the fall and spring semesters at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. Classes generally run around 12 weeks total, taking a week off if classes fall on a major holiday or Spring Break. We have a Women’s Bible Study that generally meets mid-week, following a similar 12 week schedule.
There are 3 classes that our Elders have asked that every member of Living Hope takes. Our belief is that together, these classes are able to help believers of all stages in their faith more clearly understand and be equipped to share the Gospel with others.
You can find sign ups for our Equipping Classes on the HOPE when they are available. If you have questions about classes, reach out to our discipleship team here.
Our Core Classes
Christian Story: Have you ever wondered how the Bible all fits together? Or how you can better understand the Bible? This class will take you on a journey through both the Old and New Testaments to discover the unified story of Scripture. God has given us the Bible that we might know Jesus and how to live for Him. You will be amazed to find that the entire Bible is designed by God to help us discover Christ and what salvation in Him is all about. Join us as we talk a walk through the Christian Story.
Christian Belief: The second of our Core Classes, Christian Belief, is designed to build on the truth of Scripture by taking a closer look at Theology. Theology can be intimidating. Perhaps questions like these have kept you from engaging with it: “What is theology?” “Who does theology?” “What happens if I get something wrong?” Whether conversations about theology have felt out of reach, over your head, or irrelevant, consider this class an invitation to ask and better understand the doctrines of our faith.
Christian Disciplines: This study is built around Habits of Grace by David Mathis and is meant to build on our other two core classes by considering key disciplines, or habits, that mark the life of the Christian. By examining these disciplines and why they are important, we can learn how each discipline can help us grow in godliness and we can identify practical suggestions for building these habits within our own lives.
