Our Vision

At Living Hope, we desire to make disciples out of the students God brings to us by impacting them and their families with biblical truth. Studies by the Barna Group and Lifeway reveal that 60-70% of students will leave church in their 20's, and only half may return. We want to see this statistic changed by challenging the students to understand and take ownership of their faith. We know that when our students are out loving God and others, and making disciples, that we are doing our job.

Youth School of Discipleship

Sunday morning, January 22nd at 9:30 the youth will be starting their own School of Discipleship. We are starting a 75 week study using a LifeWay curriculum called Elements. It's going to be a great study that looks at twenty-five different topics from three different angles, helping us get a fuller understanding of God’s word. Don't let your youth miss out on this.

What is SIX05?

SIX05 meets on SUNDAY nights at 6:05 p.m. (Be sure to check out our website calendar for holiday, spring break, and summer schedule changes.) Deuteronomy 6:5: "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might." After God miraculously and graciously set the Nation of Israel free from Egypt, He gave them commands for living that started and are to be motivated by love for Him. Bondage is a horrible thing, so being freed by a God who loved and cared for them was something they needed to remember. Do you know that God loves you?
SIX05 is about worship, evangelism, equipping and, helping youth to experience the love of God, to live it out and to help others come to know God’s love in Jesus Christ too. We desire to develop a community of youth who are growing in love with God, while giving them an exciting and safe event to invite their friends to hear about Jesus. The Gospel is a common theme in our Sunday night teachings. Believers will also be challenged and edified by the practical applications of the lessons as well. We desire to equip students to confront culture with the love of and for God in Christ. His love experienced must be expressed on our campuses, teams, in relationships and families because He is the greatest love not only today but for eternity!
Parents: Please prioritize Sunday nights in your junior high and high schools student’s schedule and then support their efforts in their various relationships as well.

Keeping you Up to Date

The Youth Culture Report

Youth Culture Headlines

Our youth will be finishing an exciting study through Exodus this month, hopefully learning God graciously rescues His people. Every week we have been excited to see new faces joining us, which should remind us how important these young men and women are.

One of the biggest things we have been learning as a group is to be real. We have done a good job of teaching our youth the correct biblical answer to things but we have been trying to learn that those answers have to become the way we live our lives. It is so important that we as parents help them apply biblical truths to their everyday events. The most obvious one is for us to do that and lead them by example.

As SIX05 ends in May, we still want to see new people coming as we prep for what God intends to do over the summer. We desire to equip our youth for the vital role they play in their homes, the local church and their culture.

Summer is coming and with that comes VBS, Mission Arlington, weekly activities and more. Stay tuned! It’s our prayer that we will see revival break out in our youth so that our local schools and whole families will be changed by the Gospel. - Howard

How do I get plugged in?

Volunteers: We need you! We need people of all ages who have a passion to see God move among the youth in the Brazos Valley. Why Youth Ministry?

There is no doubt that it is every parent's responsibility to train their child to know and fear the Lord. Knowing this, we see youth ministry as family ministry. We do not desire to take the place of the parent as the primary influencer of their child, but we do want to join with them as they raise their child. We exist to be a resource and encouragement for parents. Our goal is to see the next generation be the church now; in their homes, schools and other spheres of influence.
