Missions is the heartbeat of this Body. As the Lord continues to expand our ministries to the ends of the earth, we are watching and praying that we will respond to where He is working.

Darrin Patrick has written a great book on the Church Planter that helps describe our goal at LH. He states, “A shepherd is one who “velcroes” people together, as it were, so that they can pastor one another. The role of the pastor is to connect undisciplined people with disciplined ones so that they learn how to discipline themselves. It is to connect those who are hurting with those who can help them gain healing. It is to help the directionless gain guidance through wise friends. In a real sense the job of the shepherd-pastor is to encourage a family environment where the church can help believers re-parent one another with both love and truth.”

Patrick describes making disciples like Jesus commands in Matthew 28:18-20 and elsewhere. It is intentional and directional. It is love-driven and based upon the Bible. There are people who have not heard the name of Jesus in a Gospel-centered message or context. Summer is a great opportunity for us to learn to do that together. All ages have the opportunity to get involved and help others in the church family get involved as well. People need Jesus!

We need strong mission-involved people spurring on the less involved, showing them what it looks like and even how to do it and then to leave the results to God. Together, we reach people with the Gospel as we meet needs and share Christ. It is God’s command for all who follow Him. The road to self-denial and cross-bearing is not popular, so we need the mature to pastor others, showing and teaching them what living on mission with God looks like.

Join us in serving communities locally and around the world as an individual, with a Hope Group, or as a family. Pray for workers and pray for people around the world to come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)missions web image

Are you ready to get involved in what God is doing? Our strategy and philosophy of mission ministry is seen in the above verse. Local, national, and worldwide mission needs and causes are all emphasized here at Living Hope. We offer real-life opportunities to meet needs and share Christ amongst our neighbors and to the ends of the earth. By getting outside the walls of a building and into our very real world, you can be the very hands and feet of Christ before a watching and hurting world.

    Ways to Get Involved

    • Join the Team: The Mission Team is praying for those interested in joining our team; please pray and see if that is YOU! We have monthly meetings, usually the third Sunday of each month, at 4 p.m. Members of our team help organize, plan, and help to prepare our body for missions. We are involved with people locally as well as others around the world. If you are passionate about following a life on mission, please come be part of this team.
