About Us Our Staff

Butch Smith, Pastor

Butch is married to Michele, and they have four wonderful children, Chelsea, Garrett, Conner, and Jalie. He enjoys spending time with his kids, reading, fishing, studying in the various coffee shops around town, politics, and watching movies with Michele. In terms of his ministry philosophy, basically, Butch most greatly desires to see the supernatural grace of God impacting and changing the lives of all people. The Bible is his final authority for faith and practice, thus he sees the membership of the body of Christ, locally and universally, as part of his actual family. Here at Living Hope, he prayerfully leads like a dad leads his home. He has a passion to see souls saved and lives changed by the power of God and for the glory of God. He does not justify sin and doesn't give up as he leads the church to trust God to move mountains in impossible situations. Paul's heart in Acts 20, as he prepares to leave Ephesus, shows the seriousness and compassion that drives Butch to faithfully serve as God's representative. Acts 20:28 summarizes his motivation and task: "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood" (NIV). Butch's preaching is meant to be simple, straightforward, thoroughly Biblical, and completely relevant for applicable life-change.

Eric Williams, Worship

Eric married his beautiful wife, Wendy, in 1994. They moved to College Station in 2001 so Eric could finish up school at Texas A&M University. They became members of Living Hope in early 2002. They have three awesome and energetic children, Lyndon, Autumn and Jason. Eric has been a Houston firefighter since 2007. He also serves as a deacon and became Worship Minister in 2009. His desire is to lead the body of Living Hope in true worship of our Lord, both inside and outside the walls of the building.

Howard Tipton, Children & Youth

Howard was hired from within the body as the children's minister in 2003. He has always been a child at heart, so it was a natural progression to allow him to guide them. In 1993 he married his amazing wife, Michelle, who helps him tremendously in the ministry. Howard's five wonderful kids (Corina, Joshua, Cecelia, Jericho, and Charlotte) are his joy. As the children's minister, Howard's desire is to help children know the God who loves and gave His life for each of them.

Dianna Lombardi, Administrative Assistant

Dianna started working at Living Hope in October 1998. She tends to all the administrative needs of Living Hope and its staff. Dianna is extremely organized and loves her job. While she and her husband are members of Central Baptist Church, they love feeling like part of the Living Hope family!
